Climb before you walk

This is really a non-topic, but something that brightened my day.  I went to MEC, saw these people standing around at the climbing wall, and a little girl in a kiddie harness scooted almost halfway up with total ease.  I asked the mother how old her daughter is, and she was 1.5.  They have a climbing wall at home, and the girl's brother (who was maybe 6) assured me that he can make it almost to the top of the MEC wall.  Before today I didn't even know that there were climbing harnesses for kids this small.  Why not climb before you walk?  Maybe it's just vertical crawling.
