3 months

It's been three months and one day since my mom's diagnosis with stage iv ovarian cancer.  At that time they told us she might make it through three months without any treatment.  Well, we feel incredibly lucky right now as the first three chemo cycles seem to have worked and the surgery was a success.  Fever and infections seem to be our thing to watch out for, but right now we're drifting back into a 'relaxation' state.  My mom's able to do more stuff every day and improvements are very noticeable.  Yesterday we went to the city for a follow-up doctor's appointment.  Afterwards we ran errands and went to the mall.  Then my mom had her first big food craving since the surgery, so we went out for dinner.  Spent the night at my place before another appointment today, had that cancelled, so we went to more stores and then took a drive through the Sibbald area, complete with brief picnic. 

The weather's been gorgeous, but feeling more like fall.  Combined with my new camera it made for some colourful shots.  I want to spend more time on a photography outing just outside the city as this time seems great for those typical Alberta shots: fields with hay bales, green and yellow leaves, and perfect blue sky.
