My longest hike to date

At 26.0km, yesterday's circuit from Sunshine Village, through the meadows, past Simpson Pass, over to Eohippus Lake, up the Ramparts, and down Healy Pass and Healy Creek, is officially the longest hike I have ever done.  The runner up is last year's Mount Bourgeau (24.5km) and Sherbrooke Lake to the Daly Glacier Overlook (23.8km).  That July last year I also took part in the Weekend to End Women's Cancers (33.0km), but the latter wasn't a hike.  Wow, in hindsight that was a month of long days out.

Yesterday, too, was full of "Oh, WOWs".  I have no idea how many mountains we saw, we must have passed at least ten lakes, and saw meadow after meadow of glacier lilies.  Seems that the yellow and white flowers were in full bloom, while the red, purple, and blue are not yet out.  The sun was out, there was just enough snow left toa dd interest to photos, the temperature was perfect, we had a great group, and very few mozzies.  Can't ask for more.  Here are some highlights from the day:

Sunshine Meadows

Eohippus Lake

The Monarch from the Ramparts

Healy Pass Trail

Healy Creek

(??? Anyone know what this is?)

Western anemone

Glacier lily

Purple saxifrage

Moss campion

Indian paintbrush

Common butterwort (???)
